Coaches

"In the name of all coaches and in the spirit of sportsmanship, I promise that we will act professionally, respect others, and ensure a positive experience for all. I promise to provide quality sports and training opportunities in a safe environment for all athletes."
     ~Special Olympics Coach's Oath

The roles that Special Olympics New Mexico Coaches play come with great responsibility.  Our coaches play the role of teacher, role model, chaperone, caregiver, friend, counselor and of course coach.

Special Olympics New Mexico offers a state-level coaches certification. The purpose of this level of certification is to give coaches immediate recognition of their commitment to Special Olympics. Each coach will receive a certificate and a certified coach's lapel pin after they have completed the necessary steps and have attended a skills training session.  For more information about becoming a certified coach, visit the Coaches page on the Special Olympics New Mexico web site.
